I am Gerald Feenstra working and residing in West Michigan – specifically in the Grand Rapids area. I have a wife, Deb, since 2006 and 3 young children. Two boys and a girl. We are a very active family and we have a lot of fun with sports, travel, camping, and, of course, hunting and fishing. One of my favorite things to do is take my kids out fishing and watch their face as they “catch a huge one”!
Professionally, I started working at a young age on my family’s dairy farm. I learned a good work ethic with close to no pay and although I didn’t see it then, certainly, when I look back, it laid a foundation for my future career. When I turned 16, I went to work for Feenstra and Associates, my Father’s Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm. Boundary work, platted subdivisions, underground sewer layout, and a host of other jobs were my normal day. I received a degree in Land Surveying in 2006 and worked full time until 2009 in this field.
Now, since 2009 I’ve been a real estate broker. In the last decade, I have established myself as one of the top brokers in the State of Michigan. Currently, I run an awesome team of 9 other professionals selling close to $50M in properties. That equals over 200 transactions and puts us as one of the top teams in the State of Michigan.
Working for you when selling
When I meet and talk to a prospective seller, I use my experience to give the best possible advice and set a game plan on how we are going to accomplish the goal of selling the property quickly and for the most money. There are strategies in how you market and how you represent the property to maximize the investment for the seller and I have honed these skills over the years to make sure I am able to give the proper and best advice possible. I surround myself with trusted industry professionals including photographers and spend extra marketing dollars to make my listings stand out above the crowd. Put yourself at the top and get the most exposure and best advice with myself and my team.
Working for you when buying
Its exciting to look for new real estate! And I try to make it a fun process! First thing, I always interview new buyer clients to find out exactly what they are looking for. This includes price, location, and any special “want list” items to look for. I always put myself in the buyer’s shoes when looking and asking myself if I would invest in and buy the property. I search the market daily and see every property that comes up in order to ensure you will be the first alerted of anything that might be intriguing. Once we find the right property, I use my continuously honed skills of negotiation in order to ensure we get the property for the best possible price.
