Steve Meng is the founder of Base Camp Leasing, American Hunting Lease Association, and co-founder and CEO of Base Camp Country Real Estate. He has held his Indiana Real Estate license since 2004. Steve grew up on a wheat, cattle, and hog farm in south-central Kansas before attending Fort Hays State University to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Agri-business in 1988.
He worked in the grain industry mostly as a commodity broker for the first 15 years of his career. The ability to understand the pride and the economics of land ownership has been an integral part of building three successful businesses. Steve manages his businesses on the principle of urgency. Attention to detail is not optional for him. “Do what you say you will and do it promptly and everything else falls in place.”
Base Camp Leasing was the pioneer of hunting leases in the Midwest and continues to be the leader. It has always been about creating more access for superior managed hunting, and land ownership is just the next natural progression. Bowhunting is a passion of Steve’s and has taken him across most of the midwestern states in pursuit of whitetail. Predator hunting is another sport not often passed up.
